Can I apply for a grant?

Anyone can apply for a grant provided that they live in Oswestry or District and/or the project is Arts based and benefits the people of Oswestry & District, it has NOT received a grant from either the Local Joint Committees or Oswestry Town Council and it is not a charity event. ..top

What type of projects do you support?

If it Arts based and meets the criteria in “Can I Apply” we will look at it...top

How do I apply?

Applying for a grant from O.D.A.A could not be easier, just download the two forms from the website. One will give us details of your project, the other will tell us about the finances of the project, fill them in and send them back. Alternatively, you can write to the address given on the Contacts page and we will send you a form ...top

What happens then?

Your form will be circulated to the members of the Executive Committee who will invite you (if you wish) to attend their next meeting, there are usually six per year.  You will be able to discuss your application.  The Executive will then discuss your application and make a decision and let you know. ...top

Is the Executive a formal affair?

If having a Chairperson and members of the Executive asking you questions about your project is formal, then you could say it is formal.  However, these meetings take place in a very friendly manner, so DON’T WORRY.  ..top

How long does it take?

This varies depending on a number of issues, but usually from when you come to the Executive you would know in a couple of weeks ..top

What if I cannot come to the Executive or do not want to?

It does not matter, if the date of the meeting is inconvenient for you, you can ask for the Executive to put your application back to the next meeting.  If you do not want to come, the Executive will still consider your application, however they may have questions relating to it which they may need answered before making a decision, this would delay any decision. ..top

How much can I apply for?

Unfortunately Oswestry & District Arts Association does not have the resources of the Arts Council when it comes to its funding, so grants tend to be relatively small, grants given by O.D.A.A. tend to be from around £100 to £800.  This said, nothing stops you from applying!!!   ..top
